Become a Dive Professional

Once you have your scuba diving certification, the world is yours for the taking. In locations all over the planet, scuba instructors are needed to assist beginners and more experienced divers to grow their own passion for being underwater. Scuba instructor roles and responsibilities are clearly outlined in SSI programs, so you’ll be prepared not only as a diver, but also as a teacher and leader of divers.

Dive_Guide Prerequisites
  • Be at least Advanced Open Water certified.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Show competency in U/W Navigation, Deep diving, Night diving, and Boat diving.
  • Be certified in Nitrox, Equipment specialist, Rescue and 1st aid/CPR/O2 admin or equivalent.
  • Must have a clear medical history (medical statement) and doctor sign off.
  • Have minimum of 40 logged dives.
  • Personally own all the gear required to dive locally. (except tanks & lead)
Dive_Control_Specialist
Prerequisites
  • Be certified as a Divemaster with any industry recognized agency.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be certified in Nitrox, Equipment specialist, Rescue and 1st aid/CPR/O2 admin or equivalent.
  • Must have a clear medical history (medical statement) and doctor sign off.
  • Have a minimum of 60 dives logged.
  • Personally own all the equipment required to dive locally. (except tanks & lead)
Instructor Prerequisites
  • Be certified as a Dive Control Specialist or equivalent.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be certified in Nitrox, Equipment specialist, Rescue and 1st aid/CPR/O2 admin or equivalent.
  • Must have a clear medical history (medical statement) and doctor sign off.
  • Have a minimum of 75 dives or 50 hours logged.
  • Personally own all the equipment required to dive locally. (except tanks & lead)
